All Red Star speech and drama programs (private and groups) involve vocal warm-ups, voice projection work, facial muscle and technical speech work, breathing practise, improvisation, character expression, mime, movement, rehearsal of performances and for older children and adults – sight reading of prose and poetry. Each student is given personal observation and feedback time. For children this will occur with both the child and parents or carers (outside of class time).
Our Red Star Teens are transitioning into early adulthood and embedding their self-explored identities every day. This is a time of great importance for social development, communication and self-determination. The Red Star foundational work continues for confidence, empathy, articulate speech, character expression, deportment and team communication, and we expand with this group into the exploration of relationships through literary authors, plays, poetry and the characters of fictional and non-fictional worlds. Speech and drama classes are key for safe self-expression among this age group, and a pathway to future communication strengths that enhance careers and tertiary study.
